Oil on Watch Dial
I bought this 1974 Seiko Choronograph largely for parts but i thought the case shape was a perfect blend of modern and vintage and loved the blue of the dial. Initially i thought to get it reprinted but the condition just isn't right to do that and actually some of the oxidation of the blue around the indices turned it green and it looked like shallow water in a pond. This is a 6139, which has a second hand that doubles as a chronograph timer, and the sub dial at the bottom counts every 30 minutes. It also has a day date function. All these extra features reduces the space to paint, so while the blue made it really well suited for a fish, the size available made it a good choice for some small koi, like a japanese pond (japanese watch, japanese fish pond). I'm really pleased with the contrast of the blue and orange. The rough brown suede gives it a vintage look but also works with all the colors on the watch dial.
