This watch is over 60 years old and had developed a mottled patina in the middle of the glossy black dial. To me this resembled stones slightly visible in a dark pond. Koi fish in that pond were the natural choice as a japanese watch. The lotus flowers and pads which i used to cover some further oxidisation are colored to match the aged lume next to each index.
